Cruggleton Lodge

The lodge contains a careful mix of antiques and modern pieces, with wood floors throughout. Upstairs, there are two beautiful bedrooms, one double and one twin, with spectacular views and a working space between the bedrooms. The upstairs bathroom is fully tiled in travertine and has a double ended bath with a fixed shower attachment.

A spacious, stylish sitting room has a wood-burning fire, cosy chairs and a sofa that can be turned into a double bed. The lodge has no TV, but there is internet and a wireless speaker, and plenty of books and games.

The kitchen has a spectacular view out to sea, an Aga that keeps the whole lodge warm, a Belfast sink and a table for six.

Outside the cottage, with amazing sea views, there is outdoor sofa, a table and chairs for outdoor dining.

From the back door, the beautiful coastal path leads through the estate’s woods to a safe, sandy beach to the north, and along the cliff edge to the ruins of 13th century Cruggleton Castle to the south.

Cruggleton lodge is a remote coastal escape, wild outside and peaceful inside. The lodge is off-grid and is powered by solar panels and a generator.

There is an outdoor swimming pool and all-weather tennis court for your use at the Stables courtyard, which is a 10-minute drive. It is a 20-minute drive to Wigtown – Scotland’s National Book Town – with its second-hand bookshops and annual literary festival. Cruggleton Lodge is also the perfect place to explore the wider Galloway landscape: coastal and hill walks, mountain-bike trails, sailing, sea-kayaking and wild swimming.
